The Two Faces of Crowdfunding

On August 1, U.S. Senator Michael Bennet’s staff concluded their statewide crowdfunding tour in Colorado Springs. Along with Senator Bennet's office, sponsors of the event included the Colorado Springs Small Business Development Center, Epicentral Coworking, and Startup Colorado Springs. Due to overwhelming interest, the event had to be moved from Epicentral Coworking to Centennial Hall Auditorium.

Bennet’s staff launched the tour at the beginning of the summer to explain how crowdfunding works and how businesses can take advantage of this new resource. A handout from the event defines crowdfunding as “when a lot of people each contribute small amounts of money online/through the internet towards a common purpose or objective.”
